This company should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. During a time of the Covid 19 health crisis they have refused to reduce the rent of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London, regardless of the venue having its income reduced to zero, presumably with the intention of driving it to bankruptcy so they can convert the site to luxury apartments, as they seem to so with any building they purchase.
This is an iconic and important venue to the gay community in London. Immovate have already more than doubled the rent they charge and have demonstrated nothing but a ruthless pursuit of cash. These are the type of foreign investors who should be barred from buying property in London as they value nothing but their balance sheet and care nothing for the communities they displace to build yet more apartments that lie empty, in turn bought by foreign investors to bank their cash. Any reasonable landlord would be prepared to at least discuss a reduced rent but immovate have demonstrated in the past they are anything but reasonable. A company worthy of the utmost contempt.
